→ Wrap Components

18 - 4 large pita breads
19 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
20 - 1 medium tomato, sliced
21 - 1/2 small iceberg lettuce, shredded
22 - 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add chicken cubes and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to tenderize and infuse flavors.
02 - Mix Greek yogurt, grated and drained cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and freshly ground black pepper in a bowl. Chill until ready to serve to allow flavors to meld.
03 - Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat.
04 - Place pita breads on the grill and warm for 30 seconds per side to soften and enhance aroma.
05 - Spread a generous spoonful of tzatziki onto each warmed pita. Layer shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, grilled chicken skewers, and optionally sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese. Fold and wrap tightly to enclose fillings.
06 - Serve the wraps immediately to enjoy optimal texture and flavor.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The marinade is so simple but packs incredible flavor without any fuss.
  • Homemade tzatziki tastes infinitely better than store-bought and takes only five minutes.
  • It's a complete meal wrapped up in one hand, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.
02 -
  • Squeeze the cucumber dry or your tzatziki will be watery and slide right off the wrap.
  • Don't skip marinating the chicken, even 30 minutes makes a noticeable difference in tenderness and flavor.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes first so they don't catch fire on the grill.
03 -
  • Use metal skewers if you have them, they conduct heat and help the chicken cook more evenly from the inside out.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after grilling so the juices redistribute and every bite stays moist.
  • Double the tzatziki recipe, you'll thank me later when you're dipping everything in sight.
