I first discovered tahini in coffee on a trip to a Middle Eastern cafe, and the combination instantly became my go-to treat for warm days. The way tahini blends with coffee gives it an unexpected smoothness that I keep coming back to.
Ingredients
- Coffee: 1 ½ cups (360 ml) cold brew coffee or strong chilled coffee
- Tahini Blend: 3 tablespoons tahini (well-stirred), 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (to taste), ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract, Pinch of sea salt
- Milk & Ice: ½ cup (120 ml) plant-based milk (e.g. almond, oat, or soy), 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Whisk Tahini Mixture:
- In a small bowl or pitcher, whisk together tahini, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and sea salt until smooth and fully combined.
- Prepare Glasses:
- Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes.
- Add Coffee:
- Divide the cold brew coffee evenly between the glasses.
- Combine:
- Add the tahini mixture to each glass and stir well to combine.
- Finish:
- Top with plant-based milk and gently stir for a creamy finish.
- Serve:
- Taste and adjust sweetness if desired. Serve immediately.
